Too Late

1 Did the detectives save the diamonds? 侦探们保住钻石了吗？

2 The plane was late and detectives were waiting at the airport all morning. 飞机晚点了，侦探们在机场等了一上午。

3 They were expecting a valuable parcel of diamonds from South Africa. 他们正在等一个从南非寄来的贵重钻石包裹。

4 A few hours earlier, 几个小时前，

5 someone had told the police that 有人告诉警方，
